Shalulile brace sees Sundowns dominate Arrows to extend PSL lead on top
Mamelodi Sundowns firmed up their place on top of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) log following a comfortable win against Golden Arrows at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday.
Sundowns produced a stunning second half to complete a 4-0 victory against Arrows, and stretch their lead on top nine points adrift from Orlando Pirates.
Sundowns opened their account with a penalty, which was easily slotted by Lucas Ribeiro Costa to hand the hosts a 1-0 lead at half-time.
From that point onward, the current league leaders took control of the game, with Peter Shalulile scoring a brace to give Sundowns a substantial lead.
Teboho Mokoena struck the final blow in the 86th minute to end the game off in style as Sundowns continue their splendid PSL record.
On Saturday, Pirates claimed a 1-0 victory in the Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs and sit second on 30 points.
