Sergio Perez extends Red Bull contract to 2024
Sergio Perez has extended his contract and will remain with Red Bull until 2024 two days after winning the Monaco Grand Prix for the first time, the Formula One team said on Tuesday.
The announcement followed the 32-year-old Mexican's victory in the principality on Sunday where he emerged from a delayed and rain-affected event ahead of his world champion team-mate Max Verstappen.
"For us, holding onto his pace, race craft and experience was a no-brainer and we are delighted that Checo will continue to race for the team until 2024," said team boss Christian Horner in a statement.
Perez said on Twitter: “Winning the Monaco Grand Prix is a dream for any driver and to celebrate my first victory there with this announcement that I will continue with Red Bull Racing until 2024 is just the icing on the cake.”
