Sergio Aguero singles out two Manchester City players for praise ahead of Liverpool showdown

Sergio Aguero has hailed the talents of two Manchester City players ahead of the club’s crucial clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

The champions now head the Premier League by just a point with a loss to the Reds seeing them exit the weekend in second spot. Jurgen Klopp has a full bill of health going into the fixture while City will have to deal without defender Ruben Dias, last year’s Premier League player of the season.

Both clubs will have had four days of rest by the time the game comes around having both won the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final ties. City earned a 1-0 triumph over an incredibly defensive Atletico Madrid ahead of next week’s return leg.

Two players grabbed the headlines in the victory; Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne. Foden came on as a substitute with 20 minutes to go and provided the assist for De Bruyne’s winner.

The 21-year-old changed the game upon his entrance, something that Aguero recognised. “Phil Foden is an incredible talent and his assist for Kevin De Bruyne was an example of what he can create out of nowhere,” he told Stake .

“He could be the best English talent of his generation. He has so much quality and it’s easy to forget he is still only 21, with so much time to learn and get better.”

Aguero - who scored against Liverpool for City seven times in 18 encounters - also sang superlatives about De Bruyne, who netted his first Champions League goal of the season on Tuesday. The Argentine added: “What more can I say about De Bruyne?

“He was amazing when I was playing for City and he is still amazing now. He’ll be a key player for the team if they want to go on and win
