Seedings confirmed for All-Ireland and Tailteann Cup goup stages

With the provincial finalists in football now known after wins on Sunday for Dublin, Louth and Armagh, the GAA have confirmed the seedings for Tuesday's group stage draws in the Sam Maguire and Tailteann Cup.

Dublin were pushed all the way by Kildare as they reached a 13th consecutive Leinster final. Louth will be their opponents on 14 May, with Mickey Harte's side accounting for Offaly after extra-time.

Armagh hit four goals as they comfortably got the better of Down in Clones to reach a first Ulster decider since 2008. There, they will face defending champions Derry, who were too good for Monaghan in Saturday's semi-final.

So, after the weekend's action, Dublin/Louth & Derry/Armagh will be either first or second seeds, depending on who wins the respective finals.

Monaghan will be a third seed in the Sam Maguire, with Kildare occupying the fourth pot.

Offaly will be seeded second in the Tailteann Cup.

Tuesday's draws will be conducted by GAA president Larry McCarthy and he will be joined by former Dublin footballer Paddy Andrews for the Sam Maguire draw and former Laois great Ross Munnelly for the Tailteann Cup.

Proceedings will get under way at 1.00pm and will be broadcast live on GAAGO.ie.

The opening games in the Tailteann Cup will be played over the weekend of 13/14 May, while a week later, across the weekend of 20/21 May, the group stage of the All-Ireland race will commence.
