Second GAA highlights show begins on Saturday night

This weekend sees the launch of RTÉ Sport's new highlights programme The Saturday Game.

Damian Lawlor will be joined in studio by Donal Óg Cusack, Jackie Tyrell, Colm Cooper and Ciaran Whelan to look back on a busy day of GAA action.

All four provinces are covered and both codes.

Ulster football came alive last week; now Cavan and Armagh could serve up something simila.

Cavan know that the only way to make it into the Championship last 16 is to reach an Ulster final.

Hurling finally gets its 2023 Championship debut at the highest level as three Leinster matches are up for decision, the highlight being Galway against Wexford.

In Munster football, the Kingdom begin the defence of their crown against Tipperary in Killarney, while Limerick take on Clare for a place in the final.

And, having already made history, will the fairytale of New York continue as they meet Sligo in the first of the Connacht semi-finals? The winner will definitely make it into the Sam Maguire round-robin.

On top of that we'll preview some massive Sunday games too, including Roscommon v Galway, and the start of the Munster Hurling Championship.

It begins Saturday night at 9.30pm on RTE2 and RTÉ Player.
