Sebastian Vettel: 4-time champion speaks as he gears up for Question Time debut

Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel will appear on Question Time this evening on the BBC, with the Formula 1 champ a guest on the panel.

The German may well be best known for being a 4-time world champion but in recent years he has been a champion for social justice, environmental awareness and equality.

Indeed, we’ve regularly seen him looking to spark dialogue over the important issues of the day, including women’s rights, the LGBT community and the climate, with the latter being his most recent point as he donned an ‘underwater Grand Prix’ t-shirt in Miami to underline the threat the area faces from rising sea levels.

He’s clearly a man of principle and one that knows he has a platform on which to share and get the messages he feels are important across, and that is what now leads him to making a debut on the Question Time panel.

Speaking ahead of the filming in Hackney this evening, this is what he had to say about his appearance:

“I don’t know, I’m fairly open. But yeah, I think it’s a different format.

“And yeah, looking forward to it. I think there’s a lot I can learn. Obviously, I have my opinion. I’m not saying it’s always right or wrong.

“But I think it will be interesting because it will be a very different setting and probably different sorts of questions or topics to be spoken about.

“So yeah, fairly open at this point… I’m looking forward to it.”

It’s certainly going to be interesting to watch Seb in such a completely different setting to the F1 paddock, but we have no doubt he is going to hold his own and make some very good points along the way.
