Sean Dyche laying into Raheem Sterling during Burnley vs Man City in 2020 remembered

Sean Dyche’s nine-year tenure at Burnley came to an end on Friday.

The Englishman had done so well with The Clarets but was sacked with the club in serious danger of relegation from the Premier League.

Astatement on Burnley’s website read: “Firstly, we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Sean and his staff for their achievements at the Club over the last decade.

“During his time at Turf Moor, Sean has been a credit both on and off the pitch, respected by players, staff, supporters, and the wider football community.

“However, results this season have been disappointing and, while this was an incredibly difficult decision, with eight crucial games of the campaign remaining, we feel a change is needed to give the squad the best possible chance of retaining its Premier League status.”

Dyche is a no-nonsense manager who has clashed with numerous players and managers during his career.

One of the players that Dyche has previously had hostilities with is Manchester City forward, Raheem Sterling.

The match, which ended 3-0 to City, was played without fans in attendance. That meant you could hear what players and staff were saying.

And microphones picked up Dyche and his backroom staff going off at Sterling after he fouled Matt Lowton.
