Seamus Power in line for Masters qualification as returns to world's top 50

Seamus Power is in line to appear at his first Masters next month after moving up the world rankings published this week.

The world's top-50 in the week starting 28 March are guaranteed their place, and the Waterford native is now 48th in the official rankings list with a couple of weekends of tournament play ahead.

He finished in a tie for 33rd at the weather impacted Players Championship on Monday, which helped him to move up a further two places in the rankings.

Power has had a good season so far having ended last year in 72nd, but two top-10 placings, and a further two top-15 finishes, have seen him shoot up the list.

Elsewhere Shane Lowry has stayed in 36th after finishing in a tie for 13th at Sawgrass, while Rory McIlroy has down one place to 7th after finishing alongside Power.
