Seamus Callanan set for spell out with broken hand
Seamus Callanan could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with Tipperary GAA confirming that he sustained a broken bone in his hand at training on Friday evening.
The news will be a blow for Tipp boss Colm Bonnar as he prepares his side for their Munster championship opener against Waterford in six weeks' time.
The four-time All-Star forward made his first start of the season in the defeat to Dublin in round three of the Allianz League last weekend and was named among the subs for this afternoon's encounter against Waterford at Walsh Park.
A statement from Tipperary GAA ahead of the clash with the Déise, confirming the 2019 Hurler of the Year's injury, read: "One change to the Tipperary senior hurling subs list with Alan Flynn replacing Seamus Callanan. Seamus sustained a broken bone in his hand at training on Friday evening and will be out for a number of weeks as a result."
