Scorpion vows to sting Ghana’s Quartey after misadventure in Japan

After narrowly losing to Keisuke Matsumoto via unanimous decision on August 30 in Japan, Nigerian boxer, Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola will be making a return to the ring in a bout tagged: ‘Homecoming’ against Ghana’s Emmanuel Quartey on October 27.

The boxing show being sponsored by Zion Sports Incorporation Management, will hold inside the Indoor Sports Hall of National Stadium Surulere, Lagos.

According to the organiser, Core Afrique Boxing Promotions, the fight has been sanctioned by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C).

The event will also feature the showdown between Kabiru ‘God Son’ Towolawi and Chidi Enoma in the cruiserweight category, while Sunday Abudu Ofere will battle Toheeb Wasiu in the heavyweight.

Adeyemi ‘Spirit’ Adekanla and ‘Joe Boy’ Joseph will slug it out in the Lightweight category.

Other fighters are the stylish Riliwan ‘Baby Face’ Babatunde squaring up against Stephen Agbor in a welterweight contest, as Rasheed ‘Fally Boy’ Adeyemo will face Semiu ‘Jagaban’ Olapade in the Superweight bout.

Ibrahim ‘Ibrmo’ Taofeek and Akeem Olamilekan will clash in another Lightweight bout, while two female boxers, Barakat Adebisi and Celina Agwu will face each other.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of COABOX, Sola Ayodele, popularly known as Sola Ford Boxing lovers will be treated to a classical boxing experience that will linger for a long time in their memories owing to the quality of fighters lined up for the boxing show dubbed ‘Scorpion Homecoming’.
