Schools rugby: Grey College floor Paul Roos to finish season unbeaten
Grey College beat Paul Roos 28-20 in their annual schools rugby derby in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Grey shrugged off the absence of several SA U18 players to cap off an unbeaten season with 16 wins. They also gained revenge for losing 34-19 to Paul Roos in Stellenbosch last year.
No 8 Keegan Scholtz and hooker Liam van Wyk each bagged a brace of tries, while stand-in captain and winger Martin Botha kicked one conversion and two penalties.
For Paul Roos, prop Ryan Jack scored a try while playmaker Lee-Jay Peterson kicked five penalties.
Six of Grey's regulars, including captain and No 8 JJ Theron and flyhalf Ian van der Merwe, were unavailable because they played for the SA U18s who beat England 33-19 on the same day.
Paul Roos were without lock Riley Norton who was called up to the SA U18 side.
