'Scary' - Aston Villa fans pile in as Burnley send Everton and Leeds United message

Aston Villa stopped the rot with a goalless draw against Leicester City on Saturday.

Steven Gerrard 's Villa had been on a four-match losing run and they have still not won a game since a 3-0 success at Leeds United on March 10. Villa have only won four times since the middle of December and have picked up just ten points from the last 30 available.

That form - and a Burnley revival - is stoking fears of a potential relegation battle but while only eight points separate Villa from the drop zone there is no need for panic at present. Everton, on 29 points and eight behind Villa with two games in hand - the first of which is against Liverpool on Sunday - are in dire straits.

Burnley have picked themselves up off the canvas with two wins and a draw from their last three games and they have to play Villa twice, which is where a lot of the fear is coming from. Villa are 15th with 37 points and play Norwich City, who are all-but-relegated at the foot of the Premier League table, as well as Crystal Palace, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Burnley boosted their hopes of Premier League survival with a 1-0 defeat of Wolverhampton Wanderers at Turf Moor with Matej Vydra's second-half goal lifting them two points clear of the relegation zone. Between Burnley and Villa are Leeds United, with 33 points and only four from Everton.

"It's Everton who are in the most trouble and maybe Leeds," one Villa fan said on social media while another added: "Everton play Liverpool and Chelsea next, we could be 11 clear points with 15 available this time next week. "I am thankful we won those games when Gerrard arrived, because we genuinely could have got relegated," a third said.
