Scarlets 35-10 Glasgow: Dwayne Peel's men claim thrilling bonus point victory

The Scarlets produced their best performance of the season as they turned the game on its head in thrilling fashion to claim a bonus point victory.

Trailing 10-0 just before half-time, they then claimed tries either side of the break and didn’t look back as they ended a four-match losing streak in style.

Wing Steff Evans, skipper Scott Williams, Wales squad scrum-half Gareth Davies, No 8 Sione Kalamafoni and winger Ryan Conbeer were the players to touch down, with Kalamafoni named Man of the Match.

Rhys Patchell provided excellent control at outside-half, while second row Sam Lousi was another player to have a big game, but it was a real team effort from the Scarlets as they scored 35 unanswered points.

Some of the rugby they played in the second half was of the highest quality and you have the real sense of this being a turning point for Dwayne Peel’s team.

They can now head out to South Africa for back-to-back games in real good heart.

Glasgow, who had started the game third in the United Rugby Championship after five straight league wins, opened the scoring after just four minutes as their early pressure was rewarded.

Twice they opted to kick penalties into the corner and from the second they struck.

The score came off a well-organised lineout drive rounded off by Aussie No 8 Jack Dempsey, with fly-half Duncan Weir added the conversion and a subsequent penalty to build a 10-0 lead.

The visitors were to dominate the opening period in terms of possession and territory, with the penalties mounting in their favour.

But then, just before the break, the Scarlets hit back with a really well-worked score off first phase.
