Saudi Arabian GP weather: What is the forecast this weekend?

The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix returns for another year as it marks the second race of the Formula 1 season at the Jeddah Street circuit this weekend.

The middle eastern nation appeared on the calendar for an F1 campaign for the first time last year with it providing a dramatic, penultimate race to the 2021 season amid fast-flowing bends and high-speed straights.

It appeared fairly popular with most drivers, though some were a little concerned about the safety of the circuit, and it now sits as race no.2 of a 23 Grand Prix season in 2022.

A typically warm and dry country, the weather is usually quite predictable in this corner of the world but let’s take a look at it anyway.

Over the course of the weekend, the probability of rain is 0% and it’s set to get warmer temperature-wise as we head toward the race, though it will naturally be cooler come most of the sessions with us set to be under the floodlights again as we were in Bahrain.

Highs of 27, 29 and then 32 degrees across the three days of action are predicted this weekend, though those will cool off a little as we head into the evening and the sun sets, with the temperature set to drop by around 5 degrees each day once night falls.

Wind could be more of a factor, though, with gusts of around 15-20mph possible and that could impact the cars at least a bit with them heavier than previous seasons thanks to the new regulations.
