Sanwo-Olu commends Lagos Women’s Run, seeks more women in sports
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended the organisers of the Lagos Women Run for giving women the opportunity to express their talents. The governor has also called on more women to embrace the opportunities offered by the Lagos Women’s Run and other events like that to develop and show their sporting abilities.
The race was flagged off by the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Emem Usoro, at the Tafawa Balewa Square, who participated and completed it.
Joy Abiye David won the race with a time of 38:35:21 ahead of Cameroon’s Liliane Nguesta, who finished with a time of 40:02:54. Charity Ogofure was third with her 40:09:23 effort.
