Sam Smith viewers all say the same thing minutes into BBC Proms performance

BBC Proms viewers were quick to heap praise on Sam Smith just minutes into the show's broadcast on BBC2 on Saturday evening (August 24).

The iconic Royal Albert Hall in London welcomed another top name in contemporary pop as Sam Smith took to the stage with the BBC orchestra.

At 32 years old, the singer collaborated with conductor Simon Hale and the 16-piece choir the LJ Singers to perform a selection of hits from Smith's decade-long career.

Kicking off with "Good Thing," Smith cut a dashing figure in a black suit while delivering the well-loved song. A flawless performance of "I'm Not The Only One" followed, leaving viewers at home thoroughly impressed.

Following the second performance, Smith took a moment to share their appreciation for the opportunity to sing at such a revered venue, reports the Mirror.

Smith remarked: "I have been thinking about this since I was a kid, and I just want to say to the BBC and everyone here. Thank you for having me."
