Saint Peter's fans 'thrilled' but not satisfied with historic Sweet 16 upset: 'Job's not finished'
Saint Peter's fans say job ‘not finished’ after upset win over Purdue Friday night for berth to Elite Eight.
JERSEY CITY, N.J. – At least one Saint Peter's alumnus is not quite ready to celebrate the Peacocks' improbable NCAA Tournament run just yet.
The Peacocks punched their ticket to the Elite Eight with a historic upset victory over the No. 3-seeded Purdue Boilermakers Friday night in Philadelphia. With the win, the Peacocks became the NCAA tournament's first No. 15 seed to advance to the Elite Eight.
Heading into the last night's second half, Saint Peter's trailed Purdue by four points. The momentum quickly shifted as the Peacocks began the second half on an 8-0 run and hung on for a 3-point win.
"It gives our school something to root for … something to have pride in," one Saint Peter's student told Fox News Digital. "We're just going to keep going. We're not going to stop. We got all of this momentum."

While the win leaves the Jersey City-based university two games shy of a national title berth, fans are not quite ready for a Peacock party just yet. They want more.
"We're thrilled," said Joey, a Saint Peter's alum who spoke to Fox News after the game. "We're not done yet. Job's not finished. We made history today, but we're not done. It's important to understand that. We're going for it all here."
