Sainsbury's slammed for going 'too far' with 'vile' £1 Easter product

Supermarket giant Sainsbury's has found itself in hot water with shoppers over one of its new Easter treats.

To many shoppers' dismay, the supermarket is selling chocolate flavoured houmous, and people are not okay with it.

In fact, people are so not okay with it, they've taken to social media to complain. Can you believe it?

Facebook page Snack News & Reviews recently shared an image of a new Sainsbury’s snack, with some shoppers saying the supermarket has “taken it too far”.

The image shows a pot of Carrots & Chocolate Flavoured Houmous which is a part of the “Easter Bunny Snacks” range.

The food product, which costs £1, contains carrot batons and a dip made from cooked chickpeas, golden syrup, sesame seed paste, cocoa powder and concentrated lemon juice.

Shoppers were quick to share their thoughts on the snack, reports Wales Online.

One said: “This sounds horrible” with a second commenting: “Not sure how I feel about this…”.

A third wrote: “Not a good mix me thinks.”

Someone else added: “Just throw the whole world in the bin and be done. You've taken it too far”.

One shopper tagged a friend and said: “a bit of me tbh [to be honest]” before adding: “wait I just realised it said chocolate wtf [what the f**k] no”.

On Twitter, the outrage continued.

@Amarcow10101 tweeted: "I am inutter disbelief , to my dismay my local only stock this now all stores in all the sainsburys across leeds! This is a huge change I’m not ready for after having regular hummus with my meal deal for years! What next ? Apricot sausage rolls??! When will it end!"
