SA's Schoenmaker bags breaststroke silver at World Championships
Breaststroke star Tatjana Schoenmaker grabbed South Africa's first medal at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka as she took silver in the women's 100m breaststroke final.
Swimming in lane three on Tuesday, Schoenmaker started slow out the blocks but pushed through in the final 25m to finish second in a time of 1.05.84.
Schoenmaker finished +01.22 behind gold medallist Ruta Meilutyte from Lithuania (1.04.92), while American Lydia Jacoby rounded up the podium with a bronze (1:05.94).

Meanwhile, South Africa's Michael Houlie missed out on the 50m breaststroke final after finishing eighth in his semi-final.
Houlie, who had the fastest reaction at the start, touched the wall last in 27.57.
