SA outside-back leaves English club Leicester with immediate effect
Former Junior Springbok Kobus van Wyk has been granted an early release from his contract with English club Leicester Tigers.
The 30-year-old, who can play wing and centre, boasts 18 caps for the Tigers since making his debut in October 2020.
Prior to joining Leicester, Van Wyk played for the Hurricanes in New Zealand and had spells with the Stormers and Sharks in South Africa, as well as a short-stint with French club Bordeaux-Begles.
He played for the SA under-20 side in 2012.
"I want to thank Kobus for his contribution to our club during his time in Leicester," Leicester Tigers head coach Steve Borthwick said in a statement.
"He joined us at the start of this journey we are on and has played a part in building the foundations for what is to come at Tigers. I wish him and his family all the best for the next chapter."
It's uncertain where Van Wyk's next destination will be.
The club has agreed terms with Kobus van Wyk, allowing the outside-back an early release from his contract.
