Rylan Clark tells pal to 'shut up' over cheeky response to potentially being chatted up at petrol station

Rylan Clark jokingly told his pal to 'shut up' as he had a cheeky response to pondering whether he had in fact been chatted up at a petrol station. The BBC Radio 2 star hasn't shied away from his single status since confirming the end of his marriage to Dan Neal.

Rylan spent months away from work and out of the spotlight amid the split which he has since spoken candidly about, saying it had an almost detrimental effect on his mental health. The 34-year-old shared how his divorce 'almost killed him' - but that he's glad it happened.

The TV and radio star split from husband, ex-MET detective Dan, after six years in 2021, with the news coming out amid a four-month break from the spotlight. The pair met on Big Brother's Bit on the Side - which Rylan was hosting - in 2015 and they became engaged the following year.

The split led to Rylan having a breakdown and being admitted to hospital, as he was "a threat to myself". He recalled how he couldn't fulfil the smallest task, such as making a cup of tea, but slowly rebuilt his life.

Previously speaking on the podcast How to Fail with Elizabeth Day, Rylan said his divorce "pretty much nearly did kill me." He went on to share: "It was really difficult, looking back on it now, it's awful to sit there and say this but I am almost glad it nearly killed me. And I am so thrilled I can say that two years on, because I didn't think I could say that two years on."

Rylan has since given hints about his dating life on social media and his latest interaction with another man had the former X Factor star and Celebrity Big Brother winner in a pickle.
