Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Wrexham dream can become a reality - but this must happen first
Wrexham manager Phill Parkinson has reaffirmed the club's lofty ambitions to one day reach the Premier League.
The former Sunderland and Bradford City boss has been in charge of the north Wales club since 2021, when they were still a non-league side. In his second season, Parkinson guided the team to promotion as National League winners, and in 2023/24 they secured a second consecutive promotion after a second place finish in League Two behind Stockport County.
Wrexham's remarkable rise has been spearheaded by A-list owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who acquired the club for £2m back in February 2021. Although they are regarded as underdogs in this season's promotion chase, Parkinson's side sit third in the League One standings after 14 games, just two points behind Birmingham City, and four behind leaders Wycombe Wanderers.

Wrexham's Hollywood owners have previously spoken about their ambitions to get the club into the Premier League for the first time in their history, although there is a recognition the journey to get there will be long and far from linear. Parkinson harbours similar goals, and he highlighted the upward trajectory of other clubs as the path to follow.
"You've got to believe it can happen," the manager said in an interview with Sky Sports. "Other teams have come from the lower leagues to get to the Premier League in recent years.
"So why can't Wrexham have the same dream? Will it happen? Who knows. But the owners, myself and the staff are working hard to put an infrastructure in place to help build and
