'Ryan Giggs headbutted Kate, then told me 'I'll headbutt you next', ex's sister claims

Ryan Giggs said 'I'll headbutt you next' after headbutting his ex-girlfriend with 'lots of force', his former partner's sister told a jury.

Emma Greville claimed that the former Manchester United star threatened her after he allegedly headbutted her sister Kate following an argument at Mr Giggs' Swinton home.

Mr Giggs denies assaulting Ms Greville at any time during their relationship. He also denies behaving in a controlling or coercive manner towards Ms Greville and subjecting her to 'litany of abuse' between August 2017 and November 2020.

He is standing trial at Manchester Crown Court and denies all charges. The trial heard that the couple had been at the Stock Exchange hotel in Manchester on November 1, 2020 before a row developed after Kate Greville had accused Mr Giggs of cheating on her with other women during their relationship.

Jurors heard that Ms Greville had been planning on leaving Mr Giggs when he was away with his job as manager of the Wales football team, but that she had 'blurted' out her allegations that night. She returned to Mr Giggs' home, where they been living together since the coronavirus lockdown was imposed.

Giving evidence from behind a screen on the sixth day of Mr Giggs' trial, Emma Greville told jurors that she had been at Mr Giggs' home that night looking after Mac, the couple's cocker spaniel, while they were at the hotel. Ms Greville said Kate had told her 'pack my stuff in the car, we're leaving tonight'.

Emma said her sister arrived back shortly after in an 'upset' and 'emotional' state, and told her she had 'confronted' Mr Giggs 'about him cheating'. She said Mr Giggs
