Ryan Gauld earns Scotland call as Steve Clarke names squad for Poland and Portugal Nations League clashes

Ryan Gauld has been handed a long awaited Scotlandrecall after lighting up MLS with Vancouver Whitecaps.

Ben Doak joins Gauld in the squad after having to pull out of Euro 2024 due to injury as Steve Clarke names FOUR uncapped players in his pool to take on Poland and Portugal next month. Former Motherwell right back Max Johnson has been called up for the first time after impressing for Sturm Graz, while Kilmarnock goalkeeper Robby McCrorie is one of three keepers as Liam Kelly misses out.

There's no place for Rangers midfielder Connor Barron despite being tipped for international recognition after making the move to Ibrox from Aberdeen in the summer. Lyndon Dykes is back in after his Euros dream was wrecked by a freak injury before jetting out to Germany, while John Souttar is named in the squad after also missing out on the finals in the summer.
