Ryan Christie makes Bournemouth transfer revelation following Celtic departure

Christie left Celtic to join the Cherries last Summer having spent six years with the Scottish club. 

Speaking with Football Scotland, Christie claims he had bigger offers from other clubs but instead chose the Championship side. 

Christie admitted he is happy with the move and was comfortable at his new club almost instantly.

The Scottish international also admitted he was unsure of making the move away from Glasgow, but that ultimately he is now happy that he did. 

“In terms of money there were moves on the table which would have been more financially beneficial which I went against,” said Christie, via Glasgow Times. 

“That proves in my mind that it wasn’t like that.

“When I moved within a few weeks I felt I’d made the right move and I’ve loved it ever since.

“The people closest to me knew, I speak to them so often, that through that period there were a lot of decisions to be made.

“I’m always going to lean on the people closest to me for advice and I felt they always got the feeling from me that I wanted a change.”

Christie revealed that he weighed up his options, but believed that his next contract was going to be the last big chance to move in his career so he took the opportunity. 

The 27-year old has featured 24 times in the Championship so far this season.

Scott Parker’s side are chasing automatic promotion and Christie has played a key role in the side. Christie has bagged two goals and earned six assists, with the Cherries currently second in the table. 

Next up for Bournemouth is a trip to Deepdale to face Preston North End on March 5. 

Christie has been a good signing for Bournemouth and has played a key role in the side’s improvement this season.
