Rush for media accreditation begins ahead 10th Access Bank Lagos City Marathon

Organisers of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, Nilayo Sports Management, has revealed that over 400 media personnel have applied for accreditation ahead this year’s event scheduled for February 15, 2025.

Already, the organisers have fixed February 3 and 13, 2025 as the dates for an Expo as part of key activities to mark the 10th year anniversary of the Gold labelled race, which is now one of Africa’s most prestigious road races.

Nilayo Sports Management disclosed on Friday that it was the first time it’s receiving such huge number of media accreditation ahead the marathon.

“We opened the platform for media accreditation just last week, and as at this morning (Friday), we have received over 400 requests from both local and international journalists. It is huge. We are equal to the task,” Nilayo Sports Management said.

This year’s Access Bank Lagos City Marathon is expected to have in attendance over four thousand international runners, while the organisers are also expecting about one hundred elite runners from all over the world at this year’s Race.

The marathon, which is in its 10th edition this year, has become a key feature in the annual calendar of World Athletics, and one of the World’s fastest growing road races.
