RuPaul to film new Lingo TV series in Salford - and here’s how to get tickets

Drag icon RuPaul is to host an American version of popular game show Lingo - with the series set to film in Salford next month.

ITV's daytime show Lingo has been a popular hit with viewers since launching in January last year. The show, hosted by Adil Ray, is based on the 1988 show of the same name and sees contestants guess words in a Bingo-style format to win a cash prize.

It was previously announced earlier this year that Drag Race UK host RuPaul will present a US adaption of the show for American network CBS and will also host a forthcoming Celebrity Lingo series for ITV.

It has now been confirmed that tapings of the US show will be filmed at dock10 studios at Media City in front of a studio audience. Ray, who has hosted the show since January 2021, will continue to present the usual series. All shows are scheduled to air on TV later this year.

Speaking about joining the show, RuPaul said: "Now, more than ever before, people want to have fun, and Celebrity Lingo is here to serve it up generously."

Mitch Graham, SVP of Alternative Programming at CBS, added. “RuPaul’s flair and sharp wit, coupled with the ability for viewers to play along at home, makes this a timely show with wide appeal that we’re excited to join our network lineup.”

Adil Ray added: "I'm so grateful to everyone watching at home, the entire crew and our fab contestants for giving me another chance to host one of the best shows on TV! Even to those who shout four-letter Lingos at me in the street! Welcome to the team, RuPaul!"

The show will be filmed at dock10 studios at Salford’s Media City in August. People can apply to
