Rugby LIVE: World Rugby confirms details of huge new tournament as top coach faces axe
Another eventful weekend of autumn international rugby is done and dusted and there's plenty to discuss after some action-packed encounters brought drama, controversy and, in the case of Wales, a badly-needed win.
Despite an unconvincing performance from his side, Steve Tandy got his first win as Wales head coach as they beat Japan in a truly last-gasp victory in Cardiff on Saturday. With the hosts trailing 23-21 as the clock went red, fly-half Jarrod Evans came off the bench to nail a decisive penalty and become the hero in a first Welsh win at the Principality Stadium for over two years.
Meanwhile, England secured another famous victory over the All Blacks after coming back from 12 points down to run out as 33-19 winners at Twickenham. It is only the ninth time that Steve Borthwick's side have beaten a New Zealand team in their 120-year rivalry and the first time since the 2019 Rugby World Cup semi-final.
Elsewhere, Ireland overpowered Australia to seal a record 46-19 win in Dublin, but it all went wrong for Scotland who fell apart in the second half of their clash against Argentina. Despite going 21-0 up shortly after half-time, a capitulation from Gregor Townsend's side saw them lose 24-33 as the Pumas fought back to win.
