Manchester United lost 3-0 against Manchester City last weekend, with Amorim now boasting the worst win percentage of any permanent United manager since the Second World War.

Following his appointment from Sporting Lisbon in November, Amorim oversaw the worst season at Old Trafford for 51 years. Amorim needed to start the new campaign well, but United have made their worst start to a season for 33 years.

United sources have insisted Amorim retains the backing of the board, but football is a results business and Amorim needs to secure positive results to silence the doubters.

Amorim will be hoping to oversee a victory against Chelsea on Saturday and he will speak to the media ahead of the game.

United players are concerned by how swiftly the mood has changed at the club following two defeats from their opening four Premier League fixtures.

United lost at home to Arsenal on the opening weekend and were defeated 3-0 by Manchester City on Sunday, while their League Cup campaign ended with a humiliating penalty shootout loss to League Two Grimsby Town.
