Ruben Amorim could sell five Manchester United players to fund January transfer window
Ruben Amorim doesn’t have long to get his feet under the table at Manchester United before the chaos of a transfer window is upon us.
The new head coach started working with his players on the training pitch this week as preparations for the weekend’s clash against Ipswich start. The time in training will give Amorim a chance to assess his squad, with decisions to be made ahead of the transfer window that opens in less than two months.
Any new boss is likely to be keen to bring in his own players when they have the chance. However, according to the Telegraph, worries over Profitability and Sustainability rules (PSRs), as well as the club wanting to implement a more sustainable structure, means that the transfer budget in January is to be ‘modest.’

However, one way of boosting the budget will be to sell players. With that in mind, here is a look at five players who United could cash in on in the winter window.
The defender arrived for £80 million in the summer of 2019 but has found himself down the pecking order for the last couple of seasons. Maguire has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford over the last few transfer windows, with United even said to have agreed a £30 million fee with West Ham in the summer of 2023 with a move never materialising.
Maguire will be entering the final six months of his contract when the January transfer window opens, it means, unless he signs a new deal, it will be United’s last chance to get some money back for the defender.
While they may not get the £30 million agreed with West Ham 18
