Roy Keane blasts Man United players for failing at something Liverpool manage to do every week

Manchester United are failing to do something critical that Liverpool manage to get correct week-in, week-out, according to former captain Roy Keane. The club legend blasted United players during Friday night's FA Cup success vs Leicester City.

Ruben Amorim's side booked their place in the fifth round of the cup by the skin of their teeth, as Harry Maguire converted with half-a-minute remaining of injury time against former side Leicester - albeit with the aid of no VAR in use.

That was the last attack in a desperate flurry to avoid 30 minutes of injury time and possibly another penalty shoot-out, something Keane was actually not impressed by. He believes Man United should show that same attacking intent from the closing stages - the same as Liverpool do in their matches - throughout the entire 90 minutes.

"You have to get bodies in the box - you see Liverpool at the moment, Liverpool are getting four, five, six bodies in the box. We’ve seen United a couple of times, balls going in and one or two, the fans are frustrated," the midfielder-turned-pundit groaned on ITV.

Keane added: "Whereas towards the end, we’ve seen them in a panic then they started getting bodies in the box, taking gambles. To play at Man United you’ve gotta gamble. You’ve gotta try and win football matches."

Playing the Premier League's 18th-placed side in the FA Cup, United managed 13 attempts on goal, four of those on target. Their last league match - the 2-0 home loss to Crystal Palace - it was 17 attempts, two on target. Before that, Fulham, four attempts with one on target.
