Rousey, Nunes, Shevchenko: Joanna Jedrzejczyk names her women's MMA Mount Rushmore

UFC legend Joanna Jedrzejczyk included Ronda Rousey, Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko in her version of women’s MMA Mount Rushmore.

Of course, she didn’t forget to mention herself as well.

Jedrzejczyk, 34, beat Claudia Gadelha and then Carla Esparza in 2015 to become the first Polish UFC champion.

She reigned for two more years before losing her belt to Rose Namajunas.

But Jedrzejczyk omitted former two-time world champion Namajunas from her list of the best of the best.

The 34-year-old Polish MMA fighter, who also holds the record for the longest female title reign in UFC history, also left out women’s mixed martial arts pioneer Gina Carano.

However, Jedrzejczyk did include her long time rival Shevchenko, 34, along with Nunes, also 34, and Rousey, 35.

Jedrzejczyk told The Schmo’s YouTube channel: “Ronda Rousey number one, me, and Amanda Nunes who became the first champion in two different weight classes.

“So definitely her, and Valentina as well.

“So I put Ronda, Valentina, Amanda, and then me.”

Jedrzejczyk recently announced that she’s now retired from MMA following her rematch defeat to Weili Zhang in June.

But despite being on the receiving end of a brutal knockout, the former strawweight queen insists that there are no hard feelings.

She added: “I don’t know, it’s her choice, her decision, matchmakers, Dana.

“But we were told the winner of our fight, mine and Weili, was going to be the next challenger for the UFC strawweight belt.

“So, definitely Weili Zhang deserves the title shot. And I know that Carla might be scared, but it’s her choice, you know, it’s her choice. She’s the champ, so she can decide, somehow. Maybe they force her to fight her.”
