Ronda Rousey comments on her future with the WWE

Ronda Rousey believes she doesn’t need another title run in WWE and that she’s currently having more fun without a title round her waist. 

The Baddest Women on the Planet lost the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship to Liv Morgan at July’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view and was unsuccessful in regaining the belt in their rematch at SummerSlam later that month – albeit in controversial circumstances.

That title run, which begun at WrestleMania Backlash when she defeated Charlotte Flair, was Rousey’s second major championship reign in WWE, having previously won the Raw Women’s strap during her previous run with the company. 

During a recent gaming stream, Ronda stated that she thinks she doesn’t really need a title run now and compared her current status to the likes of Roddy Piper – who rarely had a title but still enjoyed memorable storylines in WWE.

I mean, definitely I guess but also, I feel like I don’t need it. I’ve been liking my non-title run because Roddy Piper never really needed the titles to make him great, you know?

And I enjoy not having all my stories be dependent on the title and also, just having more storylines out there for the women so, everything for the women almost always involves the title and a lot of the men have non-title storylines all the time and so, I am happy to take some non-title storylines to just give more storylines to the women total, you know?

Rousey hasn’t wrestled on TV since her defeat to Morgan at SummerSlam but is currently in a storyline with WWE authority after her on-going attacks on WWE officials, including last week’s beating down of Adam Pearce.
