Ronaldinho & Sergio Ramos' Twitter exchange after Real Madrid exit

Last summer, Sergio Ramos brought an end to his Real Madrid adventure.

After 16 trophy-filled years in the famous white jersey, the centre-back opted to not extend his stay and chose to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

“The moment has arrived, one of the most difficult moments in my life, to say goodbye to Real Madrid,” Ramos said after new of his departure became official, per Sport.

“I arrived with my parents, a kid aged 19 and now I have a wonderful family of my own. I want to thank my family, who have been there in the good times and the bad

“I want to thank the club, the president and my teammates for all the affection they have given me. For me, you’re like family. It’s inevitable to get emotional, I’ve been here for a lot of years.

“I would have liked to say goodbye at the Bernabeu with fans. Thanks to Madrid, who will always be in my heart. An era ends but it’s not goodbye, it’s see you later, because sooner or later I will be back.”

Ramos is without question one of Real Madrid’s greatest ever players. He excelled as captain and despite spending most of his time at the club playing at centre-back, the 36-year-old managed to score over 100 goals.

During the course of his career in Spain, the no-nonsense defender was part of some epic battles – most notably against Barcelona legends Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho.

And after Ramos’ Real Madrid exit was confirmed, the latter of those two players proved there’s no love lost between the pair.

Ronaldinho attempted to troll his former rival by posting a tweet containing an action shot from one of their matches together with a caption that read: “Hey @SergioRamos – remember this night?!”
