Ronald Araujo's celebration after his battle with David Alaba sums up the new Barcelona

Barcelona enjoyed their finest night of the 2021/22 season so far just before the March international break.

Xavi Hernandez’s side defeated Real Madrid 4-0 in El Clasico and to make the victory even sweeter for them, it came at the Bernabeu.

A brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and goals from Ronald Araujo and Ferran Torres secured a memorable win for the Catalan side.

The three points earned from that game has moved Barcelona up to third in the La Liga table and if they beat Sevilla in their first match after the international break, they’ll shoot up into second.

Things are finally starting to look very promising for the Blaugrana after a dismal start to the 2021/22 campaign under Ronald Koeman’s leadership.

The entire team is starting to perform to a much higher standard, with El Clasico goalscorer Araujo one of the standouts since Xavi took charge.

Araujo started at right-back against Real Madrid and the decision to deploy him in a slightly unfamiliar role paid dividends.

The dangerous Vinicius Junior barely got a sniff throughout the entirety of the game, with Barcelona’s Uruguayan colossus marshalling him expertly.

As well as keeping Vinicius quiet, Araujo found time to produce a brillant highlight moment while the team were 4-0 ahead – one which has gone viral on social media.

In the latter stages of the game, the no-nonsense defender won a battle with David Alaba by the touchline that resulted in Barcelona being awarded a throw-in by the linesman.

And Araujo celebrated that outcome like he’d scored another goal. The 23-year-old was absolutely ecstatic and even walked past Alaba to give one of his teammates who was warming up a high-five.
