Roman Reigns: Five WWE Superstars who could potentially end title reign

On Saturday night Drew McIntyre became the latest name to be defeated by Roman Reigns as he retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle.

It extends the champions streak yet further having held onto a world championship for an incredible 735 days – and over two years as champ.

With Drew McIntyre the latest name to be chalked off, GiveMeSport looks at five possible candidates who could finally be the man to end the Tribal Chief’s reign.

Austin Theory

The quick option and honestly the most unlikely. It’s hard to see WWE ending Roman Reigns’ run by way of a money in the bank cash-in, it would be an absolute waste of the moment – despite Theory constantly threatening otherwise.

The only feasible option in which Austin could be used in ‘beating’ Roman is if there’s a clever way in splitting the belts across the two brands once again. A good way of getting one of those belts off Reigns and having him hang onto the Universal Title he won 735 days ago, would be for Theory to win the WWE Championship. It would mean each brand has a world title again, it wouldn’t end the overall run of Roman and could add some small storyline wrinkles to the Bloodline’s dynamic ahead of whoever eventually properly beats Reigns for the belt.

Cody Rhodes

It will be interesting in years to come to know what the plan for Cody was before injury ruled him out of action and derailed WWE’s plan. His presentation in coming back to WWE has been almost faultless, and they’ve made Cody to a legitimate star of the company, so question is now – is it a star
