An advisor on the sale process of the club has stated that Roman Abramovich will not be in any rush to sell Chelsea Football Club.

Abramovich, who took over the club in 2003, confirmed on Wednesday evening ahead of their FA Cup fifth round tie at Luton Town that he was planning to put Chelsea up for sale.

Recent reports have stated that the consortium led by Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss and LA Dodgers part-owner Todd Boehly is expected to make a bid to buy Chelsea in the next 48 hours, with at least one other unnamed American businessman also understood to be involved.

"We are not going to rush anything. It is very important that Chelsea have the right owner to guide the club forward," said Joe Ravitch, the co-founder of investment bank Raine Group LLC, told Reuters, before refusing to discuss details of the sale process.

Rumours have continued to surface throughout the past few days regarding what the future holds for Chelsea in the absence of Abramovich, who has managed to oversee the football club as they have won every possible trophy since he took over almost two decades ago.

It will therefore be interesting to see if the west Londoners are able to achieve similar success in the coming years without his guidance.
