Robin van Persie has urged Manchester United supporters to get behind new signing Tyrell Malacia during the "good times and bad times" in a classy video message.
Promising Red Devils fans that they are not only getting a "very talented full-back, but, as well, a fantastic person," Van Persie has heaped praise on the 22-year-old, who he played alongside and captained for the 2018/19 season at Feyenoord. Now back in the Dutch club's academy as a coach, the former United striker knows all about Malacia and expects big things from him at Old Trafford.
In a video posted on Feyenoord's social media channels shortly after the Netherlands international's £13million transfer was confirmed on Tuesday, Van Persie began: "Hey, Tyrell. It's Robin here. I would like to congratulate you on your fantastic move to Manchester United, a big moment in your career. You've shown that self-belief, lots of talent and hard work, day in, day out - you've shown that and I've seen that from close by - that dreams come true.
"So, to all Red Devils fans, you're not only getting a very talented full-back, but, as well, a fantastic person. So, be nice to him support him in good times and bad times. He will give absolutely everything for you guys, so I'm sure it will be a great connection
