Roberto Di Matteo's 23 West Brom transfers and what happened to them

West Brom have gotten through their fair share of footballers, and while many have proven to be good, value-for-money signings, others yet have fallen flat on their face.

Roberto Di Matteo's tenure was no different - it's a real mixed bag here.

From the summer of 2009 to the January window of 2011, all of his 24 signings are here in all their glory.

The Bristolian’s career at The Hawthorns never took off. Was loaned to Walsall before Oldham snapped him up permanently. Was at Forest Green Rovers in League Two, but he is currently with non league Yeovil, where he'd been before. Reid is still only 33.

Arrived for £1.5m and scored a few important goals. Struggled in the Premier League though. Scored 45 goals in 172 appearances for Southend United before joining Western Sydney Wanderers in 2019. He has since announced his retirement.

Up front for League Two Colchester United. Made only three appearances for Albion. Has proved to be a bit of a journeyman in his career, and he has represented various sides throughout the EFL, as well as having a short spell in China. Joined Leyton Orient on loan in January 2022.

Didn’t cut it at left-back, though young. Had many loan spells during his time at Albion. Now a regular with Rotherham, where he has been since 2015.. Still only 31.

Never played a game. The Canadian international was loaned out a number of times. Was back in his homeland with Pacific FC, but he has since joined Cambodian outfit Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC, where he scored four goals in his first three games.

The man who helped to down Albion in the play-off final of 2007. Winger Barnes was accrued on a free. He helped the club gain promotion, but was released in 2011.

Has played for Houston Dynamo, Vancouver
