Roar on the Lionesses to World Cup glory by sending your message of support

England are just one game from sporting immortality after beating Australia to set up an epic 2023 Women's World Cup final against Spain.

The Lionesses captured the nation's hearts after ending the 56-year wait for a major trophy with last summer's Euros triumph, leading to record attendances in the Women's Super League. With England among the favourites at this summer's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, Sarina Wiegman's sidekicked-off Group D with a nervy 1-0 win over Haiti. An early goal from Lauren James saw off Denmark in another 1-0 win, and the Lionesses wrapped up their group with a 6-1 cruise against China.

England were into the knockouts, but were almost sent home at the first time of asking by Nigeria. James saw red for a stamp as the game went to extra-time and penalties, though England won the shootout 4-2 to set up a quarter-final against Colombia. Leicy Santos caught out Lionesses goalkeeper Mary Earps with a lobbed cross-shot to put Colombia 1-0 up, but Earps wasn't the only 'keeper to be left blushing as Catalina Perez spilled a loose ball, allowing Lauren Hemp to poach an equaliser just before half-time. After the break, Alessia Russo, fresh from a move from Manchester United to Arsenal, capitalised after a missed interception from Daniela Arias to seal a 2-1 win.

That victory has set up a mouth-watering semi-final against hosts Australia in Sydney, and England led 1-0 at the interval through a majestic Ella Toone finish. Sam Kerr replied with an equally audacious goal just past the hour-mark, but clinical efforts from Hemp and Russo (again) sealed a 3-1 win to set up a final against Spain on August 20.
