Richard Osman's House of Games: Greg Rutherford from famous footballer grandad to health scare of finding a lump on his testicles

Richard Osmon's House of Games on BBC Two sees celebs completing various tasks in order to test their general knowledge.

Four stars are taking part in the show this week, including Melvin Odoom, Denise Van Outen and Angela Barnes. Also joining the lineup is former Olympian Greg Rutherford.

Greg is a retired track and field athlete. Representing both Britain and England, he specialised in long jump.

At the 2012 London Olympics, he became the second British man to win Olympic gold in the long jump.

Following his astounding success at the Olympics here in the capital, Greg was featured on a Royal Mail postage stamp as well as there being two post boxes painted gold in Milton Keynes in his honour. The athlete's final Olympics was in 2016, were he won a bronze medal.

Greg also represented Britain at the World and European Championships as well as representing England at the Commonwealth Games. He is still now reportedly the British record holder for long jump both outdoors and indoors.

The 35-year-old has also recently dabbled in sledding. He joined the Team GB bobsleigh setup and in 2021 was chosen for the team that would compete in the Winter Olympics, however, they did not do well enough at the 2021–22 Bobsleigh World Cup to qualify.

Sport runs in the Olympian's family with two footballer grandfathers. His great-grandfather, Jock Rutherford played 11 times for England as well as Clapton Orient, Newcastle United and Arsenal. At the age of 41, he is the oldest ever first-team player for Arsenal.

Greg's grandfather John Rutherford also played for Arsenal. He also played for Ilford, West Ham United and Tunbridge Wells Rangers.

Milton Keynes born Greg regularly appears on our screens in various TV shows, including Would I Lie
