Residents hear 'massive bangs' after caravan 'explodes' in fire
Residents described hearing 'massive bangs' as a caravan 'exploded' in a fire in Wigan.
The fire broke out on Holmsfield Close in Aspull at around 2.30am this morning (Wednesday). It involved a caravan and two garden sheds, the fire service said.
The blaze then spread to the back of three nearby houses. Neighbours said they heard 'two massive bangs' before emergency services showed up on the scene.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze then searched the area to 'ensure it was safe'. Crews were on the scene for around two hours.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "Just after 2:30am in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 10 May) we received a report about a fire on Holmsfield Close, Aspull. The fire involved a caravan and two garden sheds, and had spread to the rear of three nearby houses.
"Three fire engines from Mossley, Hyde and Horwich fire stations were quickly mobilised to the scene, and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the flames and prevent further spread. Crews carried out searches to ensure the area was safe before departing after around two hours at the scene."
