Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland off to winning start at World Cup of Darts
The Republic of Ireland are through to the second round of the World Cup of Darts after a convincing 5-2 win over Canada in Frankfurt.
Steve Lennon led the way for the 2019 finalists, while Willie O'Connor hit the winning double to see of the challenge of Matt Campbell and Jeff Smith.
Ireland will face the winners of Brazil and the Netherlands in the next round.
"It was tough before I made it [extra] tough," said Limerick’s O’Connor, who started off slowly.
"If [Steve] keeps doing what he’s doing and I start doing what I can do there are very few that can stop us."
