Report: Tua to return to practice on limited basis
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will return to the practice field Wednesday on a limited basis, according to The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
Tagovailoa is progressing through concussion protocol but it is unlikely he plays in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings, even if he clears.
#Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa will return to the practice field today on a limited basis, per me and @TomPelissero, as he progresses through the concussion protocol. Even if he's cleared, he's unlikely to play this week. Full story: https://t.co/n2LODVGiDk
Tagovailoa suffered a concussion on Sept. 29 against the Cincinnati Bengals after taking a hard sack in the first half. He was stretchered off the field and taken to a hospital and remains in concussion protocol.
That came four days after Tagovailoa was hit hard in a game against the Buffalo Bills where he appeared to have trouble staying on his feet afterwards. Teddy Bridgewater started in his place, but he was forced out of Sunday's game against the New York Jets with a head and elbow injury.
In four games so far this season, the 24-year-old Tagovailoa has 1,035 yards passing with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.
The Dolphins enter Sunday's game against Minnesota at 3-2, good for third place in the AFC East.
