Report: Rangers fire manager Woodward
Chris Woodward's time with the Texas Rangers is at its end.
The Dallas Morning News' Evan P. Grant reports the team fired their manager on Monday as the team appears on course to miss the playoffs for the sixth straight season.

Sitting at 51-63, the Rangers sit third in the American League West, trailing the Houston Astros by 23 games. The team is 9.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for the final AL wild-card spot.
Woodward, 46, was in his fourth year as Rangers bench boss. He finishes his tenure with a mark of 211-287 (.424). The job was Woodward's first as a manager, heaving previously served in coaching roles with the Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Dodgers.
As a player, the Covina, CA, appeared in 659 career games over 12 seasons as an infielder with the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Mets, Atlanta Braves, Mariners and Boston Red Sox.
