Report: £22.5m-rated star could now be tempted to join Tottenham, he’s perfect for Conte

Tottenham Hotspur may be boosted in their pursuit of Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara as some promising transfer news comes out of Spain.

As reported, transfer chief Fabio Paratici has devised a plan to sign quality players with dwindling contracts for manager Antonio Conte as the Lilywhites set their sights on 2022 free agents.

The likes of Paulo Dybala and Sam Johnstone, both of whom look set to leave their clubs in the summer on Bosman transfers, have been repeatedly linked with Spurs already.

Another exciting player, versatile Ligue 1 ace Kamara, could be one more freebie on Conte’s radar as a claim emerges from the continent in this last week.

According to Spanish sources, Tottenham has emerged as a ‘possible destination’ for the 22-year-old.

It is believed that Conte’s side want to make ‘several’ additions in the next window, and their ‘sporting project’, combined with ‘economic solvency’ could be enough to ‘tempt’ Kamara into joining.

They add that the Marseille starlet would be a ‘perfect reinforcement’ for Conte as he eyes fresh faces for the ‘spinal cord’ of his team.

Valued at around £22.5 million by Transfermarkt, the fact he could sign for Spurs for free comes as a real no-brainer – with Kamara adept at playing both centre-half and in front of the back four.

He could solve two issues in one for Conte at zero cost and it is surprising that there haven’t been more links in recent links.

Kamara has been a solid and reliable performer for Marseille all season, making the joint-third most tackles per 90 out of their entire squad in Ligue 1 (2) and the second-most interceptions (1.3, WhoScored).
