Rennie sacked by Australia and replaced by Jones
Australia have sacked Dave Rennie and appointed Eddie Jones in his place with the Rugby World Cup looming on the horizon.
In a surprise move, the Wallabies have decided to put Jones in charge for a second stint, penning a five year deal that will take him through to the 2027 World Cup.
He was in charge of Australia from 2001 to 2005, landing the 2003 World Cup, and begins the role eight months out from the World Cup.
Rennie has paid the price for a difficult 2022, winning only five of 14 Tests, though Jones lost his role with England after a similarly challenging year.
The 62-year-old won three Six Nations titles in his seven years in charge and led the team to the 2019 World Cup final, but registered just five wins from 12 Tests.
