Referees' planned action following alleged assault puts Roscommon GAA games in doubt
All GAA games in Roscommon could be postponed this weekend if referees go ahead with a planned withdrawal of their services.
RTÉ Sport understands that following a meeting of referees and county board officials last night, that the final round of games in the senior, intermediate and Junior A football championship were set to be called off.
This follows an incident at an underage match in Ballyforan on Wednesday evening, where a referee was left needing medical attention after an alleged assault.
However, it is also understood that Roscommon County Board could provide further updates this morning and that they are making a final effort to have the weekend’s fixtures schedule played.
