Red house wins Silversands Hall schools Inter House Sports competition

Overall winner of Silversands Hall Schools Inter House Sport competition,- Red House, during the Match Past

Red House emerged overall winner at the 11th annual inter house sport competition of Silversands Hall Schools, which held on Thursday in the school premises, Pinnoch Beach Estate, Osapa London, Lekki., Lagos Green and Blue Houses finished second and third respectively. The winners got medals and trophies at the end of the competition.

The event, which afforded students the opportunity to display their athletic talents started with a March Past, where students of the competing Houses comprising Red, Green, Blue and Yellow, gave parents and other guests a taste of what will follow.

The competition featured many interesting activities such as bicycle ride, Sac race, picking the balls, 100m and football competition between parents and students among others.

The children gave their best to ensure that their respective Houses emerged winner, with parents cheering their children and other participants.

Speaking at the occasion, the Executive Director of the Silversands Hall Schools, Dr. Nike Agunbiade – Etiebet said the school takes pride in sports, not only to showcase its sporting talents but ‘unleash the giants within’ both as a form of recreation and fitness exercise.

On the importance of Inter House Sports competition, she said: “It is a part of education as it builds student’s esteem.

She commended the parents for always cooperating with the school authority and advised them to encourage their children to always participate in sporting activities.

On his part, Mr Joseph Ogedengbe, who is the School Sports Coach, said he was overwhelmed at the outstanding skills, strength and athletic display by the students.
