Red Devils transfer news: Manchester United tipped to go all out to try and sign Declan Rice

TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has tipped Manchester United to go “all out” to sign Declan Rice this summer.

Rice is enjoying another fine season at the heart of the West Ham midfield, which has led to interest from several top Premier League clubs.

According to WhoScored, only Jarrod Bowen, who’s been in incredible form of late and has 16 goal involvements for the campaign, has been performing better than Rice in the Hammers squad this term.

Rice himself has scored once and laid on four assists, but it’s his work all over the pitch that has given him a rating of 7.18 for the season, which puts him fourth in terms of top-flight midfielders – behind Mateo Kovacic, Conor Gallagher and Ilkay Gundogan.

According to the Telegraph, United face competition from Manchester City and Chelsea for Rice’s signature, with West Ham boss David Moyes pricing the midfielder at around £100m.

United have struggled in midfield for some time, with Fred and Scott McTominay failing to deliver on a consistent basis, while Paul Pogba’s contract runs out this summer. Even Roy Keane said that his former side won’t challenge for major trophies with McTominay and Fred starting regularly.

Therefore, Crook reckons that the Red Devils will do everything in their power to bring the midfielder, who’s missed just one Premier League game this season and that was due to a suspension, to Old Trafford this summer.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think they’re going to go all out to sign Declan Rice. And I think if you listen to Declan Rice in interviews, he’s almost paving the way for a departure.”
